Angèle Dubeau & La Pietà

FEBRUARY 5 at 7:30pm

Prominent French-Canadian violin virtuoso Angèle Dubeau, accompanied by her sensational all-female classical string and piano ensemble composed of nine top-ranking female musicians, amongst the best in Canada, La Pietà, will be performing material from the luminous Blanc, Dubeau’s latest album, as well as interpretations of pieces by Philip Glass and additional works from the performer’s oeuvre.

The excellence, precision and strength of each one, as well as the closeness that they have with each other, grant them an exceptional ensemble sound and contribute to the communicative pleasure that the orchestra imparts. With her associates, Angèle Dubeau has travelled to South America and Asia, as well as several times throughout Canada and the United States. The members of this orchestra, thanks to the reputation they have acquired during their national and international tours, have become true ambassadors, whose success does honor Canada everywhere.

BLANC has been declared “Best Classical Album” of 2014 by iTunes Canada. With this 38th album in career,  Angèle Dubeau demonstrates once more her great virtuosity along with the musicians of La Pietà. This recording was also selected as the Best Classical Music Album in Quebec a few months ago.

BLANC (White) like purity and serenity. BLANC for luminous music that can bring interior peace through its strength and powerful evocation” says the musician.
