Tears of Joy Theater

There's a Nightmare in my Closet by Mercer Mayer & Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll

This classic Tears of Joy production is performed with a variety of styles of puppets. The boy and the Nightmare are adaptations of Japanese bunraku puppets and the Jabberwocky is performed with three dimensional shadow puppets created from kitchen utensils which fuels the imagination!

These stories are tied together by the theme of facing and overcoming our fears in ways that will elicit both wonder and giggles.

Tears of Joy Theatre is recognized as one of the nation’s outstanding puppet theatre, known internationally for its innovation and excellence. Each year the programs of the theatre serve over 200,000 children and adults. Tears of Joy Theatre has received a Washington State Governor’s Arts Award and a Young Audiences Sunburst Award for its “exemplary commitment to arts in education.” Four of the theatre’s productions have received American puppetry’s highest honor, The Citation of Excellence in the Art of Puppetry from UNIMA-USA.

To the attention of Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles parents: Please note that students from Campus 55, Century City Campus and Pacific Palisades Campus, will attend the show on November 15 in the morning.
