Perla Batalla in concert “The Best of Perla”

Deftly moving through musical genres, the audience will be taken on a musical journey as the Grammy-nominated Perla Batalla performs a variety of classic and original material, in both English and Spanish, with selections from Perla’s albums Gracias la Vida, Bird on the Wire, Discoteca Batalla, with favorite songs like Gracias A La Vida, Cucurrucucu, Hallelujah, Suzanne, Nature Boy, and more.

Animation Fest

Stories from Père Lachaise

November 6, 2021, 3:00pm-10:00pm

Adapted in part from Carolyn Campbell’s bestselling book “City of Immortals”, TRK presents a day-long festival that brings the cultural icons buried in Paris’s Père-Lachaise Cemetery to life. The event includes a photo exhibition, original works of theatre and music, a documentary film, a book signing and conversation with Carolyn Campbell, food and wine.

 

Carlo Ponti & The Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra

The Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra (LAV) is the only professional orchestra in the United States to offer aspiring young soloists and students opportunities to perform with the most talented musicians in the country. Details on program, tickets, and how to watch will be released over the summer.

Violins of Hope Presents Delirium Musicum

December 1, 2021

Using a collection of violins, violas and cellos rescued from the Holocaust, Etienne Gara, Founder and Artistic Director of the LA-based chamber orchestra, Delirium Musicum, will perform a program rooted in the traditions passed on by the great masters, to build a future filled with hope and resilience.

Stéphane Wrembel Band

January 20, 2022

At this one-night-only event at TRK, the Stephane Wrembel Band will perform a mix of Wrembel’s original compositions, some of Reinhardt’s compositions, and jazz standards. The band includes: Stephane Wrembel, guitar; Josh Kaye, guitar; Ari Folman-Cohen, bass guitar; and Nick Anderson, drums; and special guest Daisy Castro, violin.

 

Sounds of Hope

Maestro Carlo Ponti and LAV join Violins of Hope for a celebration of Jewish music and history through the artistry of young violinists, performing on storied violins played during the Holocaust. Celebrate the unifying power of music in this unique and emotional tribute!

A Night of Short French Films

February 10, 2022

Now in its 13th year, A Night of Short French Films is presented in partnership with the Alliance Française de Los Angeles, and continues the annual tradition of featuring the best independent filmmakers from France. Patrons enjoy a free wine and cheese tasting at intermission included in the ticket price.

In collaboration with Dance Camera West (DCW), we roll out an exclusive set of international dance films that connects cultures, stage dancers old and young, tells stories. Each dance film brings a different discipline to the forefront, be it dance, choreography or cinematography, and some films present all three at once. Not to miss for dance lovers.

The American referred to in John Scofield’s latest project Yankee Go Home is the guitarist himself, and the realm to which he’s directing his feet was built by the rock ‘n’ roll that seduced him as a teenager. Joined by Brian Blade Fellowship pianist and arranger Jon Cowherd, ace bassist Vicente Archer, and drummer Josh Dion, Scofield is plunging back into the music that colored his adolescent world, reinterpreting tunes by everyone from Leonard Bernstein, Neil Young and Buddy Holly to Stevie Wonder and the Grateful Dead (with some recent originals thrown in for good measure).

Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles presents the Musical Afternoon, with student performances of choir, band and dance. This program highlights our students' creative ambition and gives them a chance to showcase their talent and enthusiasm.

Biréli Lagrène

Biréli Lagrène is considered one of the world’s premiere practitioners of manouche jazz. Following in the footsteps of legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt, music has always been Lagrène’s language, and from a very young age was considered a child prodigy on the guitar.
