Anne Plamondon, lumineuse interprète, ose un premier solo audacieux sur le thème de la maladie mentale. En collaboration avec l’actrice, auteure et metteure en scène Marie Brassard, elle superpose les réalités, offrant ainsi une vision quasi panoramique de ce thème fascinant. Elle est tantôt cet homme perdu, personnalité disloquée où coexistent et se succèdent comportements anormaux, langage délirant, conduites incohérentes, tantôt cette femme, témoin du naufrage, qui voit la démarcation entre la démence et la « normalité » hésiter sous ses yeux. Elle est aussi le souvenir fugace du malade tel qu’il fût avant de basculer dans la folie. Touchante de fragilité, elle explore ces zones grises, ces états qui nous habitent et qui nous font souffrir, l’incompréhension des autres, ce corps trop petit pour contenir une pensée sans limites… Elle nous invite, corps et esprit, dans une poétique performance danse-théâtre, à poser un regard sur ces états mentaux troublants avec Les mêmes yeux que toi.
The radiant dancer Anne Plamondon embarks on a bold solo, her first, on the theme of mental illness. In collaboration with the actress, writer and director Marie Brassard, she superimposes realities, presenting an almost panoramic vision of the subject matter. She is at times a lost man, his personality torn asunder, roiling with abnormal behaviours, spells of delirium and incoherent demeanour; at other times a foundering woman in a state of collapse for whom the line between insanity and “normality” is an ever-shifting maze. She is also the fleeting memory of a mentally ill person prior to the plunge into madness. With touching fragility she explores these grey zones, these states that haunt us and make us suffer, and the attendant lack of understanding from others. Here the body is too small to contain thoughts that know no bounds. She invites us, body and mind, into a poetic dance theatre performance to take a look at these disturbing mental states with The Same Eyes as Yours.
About Anne Plamondon
Anne Plamondon est chorégraphe, interprète et directrice artistique d’Anne Plamondon Productions (APP), fondée en 2018 à Tiohtià:ke. Avec plus de 20 ans de carrière internationale, elle est reconnue comme une figure importante de la danse contemporaine canadienne.
Depuis 2012, elle développe une œuvre sensible centrée sur le mouvement et la connexion humaine. Sa création MYOKINE (2023) a été présentée internationalement et a renforcé sa reconnaissance sur la scène mondiale.
Elle a signé des œuvres pour Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal, Ballet Edmonton et d’autres compagnies majeures, et prépare plusieurs projets pour 2026–2027, dont une création au Joyce Theater à New York.
Elle a dansé avec Nederlands Dans Theater 2 et Gulbenkian Ballet, et collaboré avec des chorégraphes de renom tels que Jiří Kylián et Crystal Pite.
Anne Plamondon is a Canadian choreographer, performer, and artistic director of Anne Plamondon Productions (APP), founded in 2018. She is known for her emotionally driven contemporary dance work and over 20 years of international experience.
Her creations, including MYOKINE (2023), have toured internationally and earned wide recognition. She has also received commissions from major companies such as Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and Ballet Edmonton.
Earlier in her career, she performed with Nederlands Dans Theater 2 and worked with leading choreographers including Jiří Kylián and Crystal Pite.
