🇫🇷 Avec un talent remarquable et une imagination débordante, Emmanuelle Le Phan et Elon Höglund nous entraînent dans un univers lumineux et fascinant. À travers leur exploration de la perception, de l’illusion et de l’invisible, ils cherchent à révéler ce qui échappe aux mots et au regard.
Sur un sol réfléchissant, cinq danseurs évoluent au milieu de panneaux de miroirs mobiles qu’ils manipulent sous différents angles. Leurs corps se démultiplient à l’infini, se mêlent et s’entrelacent en parfaite harmonie avec la musique d’Elon Höglund.
Prism ouvre un champ de possibilités infinies, déforme les perspectives et déconstruit le mouvement en une multitude d’images colorées.
Un voyage onirique à l’effet véritablement hypnotique.
🇺🇸 With talent to spare and an abundance of imagination, Emmanuelle Lê Phan and Elon Höglund deploy their tentacles in luminous spheres. They deepen their exploration of perception, illusion and the invisible, searching for what we cannot really grasp, what is hidden from words and the gaze. A quintet of dancers move between a reflective floor and movable mirror panels that they can manipulate from different angles. Kaleidoscopically multiplied tenfold, their bodies seamlessly unite and intermingle, in synergy with Höglund’s music. Prism opens up a myriad of possibilities, distorting perspectives and deconstructing movement into infinite combinations of colourful images. A dreamlike journey with a truly hypnotic effect.
About The Creative Process
🇫🇷 La création de Prism est née d’une idée scénographique : deux murs de miroirs permettant de multiplier les reflets jusqu’à sept fois. La scénographie a été conçue pour que les murs puissent changer d’angle, créant des perspectives tantôt obtuses, tantôt aiguës.
Travailler avec un dispositif scénographique était un nouveau défi pour Tentacle Tribe. Progressivement, la compagnie a exploré la manière d’intégrer les murs et les reflets à son esthétique singulière.
Le travail de Tentacle Tribe explore la symbiose entre les corps pour créer un organisme unique. En déconstruisant les illusions issues du hip-hop, la compagnie développe une gestuelle abstraite, organique et mécanique.
Prism démultiplie ces effets pour donner naissance à une danse kaléidoscopique spectaculaire, où les corps se transforment et se confondent dans un jeu hypnotique de reflets.
🇺🇸 The creation of Prism started from a set design idea where two walls and a reflected up to seven times. The scenography was designed with the option of changing the angle of the walls either into an obtuse angle or an acute angle. Working with set design was a new challenge for Tentacle Tribe. Approaching the beast slowly we looked for how to really integrate the walls and the reflections with the aesthetic of the company. Our work researches the symbiosis between bodies to create a single organism. We deconstruct illusory concepts from Hip Hop to create abstraction and an organic-mechanic effect. Prism multiplies these effects to create a mind-blowing kaleidoscopic dance.
