Bavela is a curious young cat whose dreams come into conflict with tradition! She embarks on a quest for the solution by visiting her past lives, drawing us into a wacky story where music and friendship are at the heart. This educational show offers laughter and discovery, while presenting music-lovers, young and old alike, with playful arrangements for marimba and cello spanning more than four centuries of music by Rameau, Piazzolla, Nina Simone and many others.

The story is accompanied by animated illustrations that will delight all. Accompanied by the dynamic duo Stick&Bow, this narrative experience will charm the whole family.

Stick&Bow is the trailblazing Montreal duo of Canadian marimba player Krystina Marcoux and Argentinian cellist Juan Sebastian Delgado, known for their genre-defying performances that range from Bach to Radiohead. With original arrangements and a unique blend of storytelling and humor, they transform familiar works in bold, unexpected ways.

Praised as “just brilliant” (The WholeNote) and featured by CBC Music as “boldly going where no cello and marimba have gone before,” Stick&Bow is equally committed to contemporary music, collaborating with renowned composers and commissioning new works.

Their debut album Resonance received critical acclaim, and their innovative performances have toured internationally, from France to Colombia. Both accomplished soloists with top prizes and doctorates, Krystina and Juan have shared their music across North and South America and Europe, pushing the boundaries of classical crossover.
