The award-winning Patrizia Laquidara is considered one of the most multifaceted and brilliant Italian singer-songwriters. She has released five albums and collaborated in theater productions.

In this concert, presented by the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles in celebration of Make Music Day, Patrizia Laquidara dives into her repertoire, recounting the origins and history of Italian popular music.

Opening with an homage to Neapolitan song, Patrizia then moves to the first edition of the Sanremo Music Festival and music of the 1950s, featuring Modugno’s revolutionary idea that Italians are ready to fly (“Volare”). Touching upon the poetic notes of Endrigo and Tenco, as well as the songwriting of De AndrèGuccini, and Battisti, the performance takes us on a musical journey that also teaches Italian history.
