Lycée students take the stage!

This is LAV’s season finale at TRK and we are thrilled to welcome them back to our stage for an outstanding concert in support of music education.

The French rarely celebrate defeat, but for this band, we’ll make an exception. San Antonio trio The Last Bandoleros perform their brand new album entitled Tex Flex Folklórico at TRK in celebration of Cinco de Mayo! The trio lovingly refers to their unique new sound - a mix of Rock, Pop, and Latin flavor - as “Tex Flex.”

LA Premiere! At the crossroads of theatre and dance, We Love Arabs offers us a demonstration, sometimes hilarious, sometimes provocative, of the ever-present power dynamics on stage, in the wings and beyond.

LA Premiere! The story of how one woman survived the Holocaust and forever altered French society. The play is the first ever adaptation of Simone Veil’s 2007 memoir called “A Life”, which recounts in detail Veil’s deportation from France to Nazi concentration camps as a child and her astonishing life afterwards. Special screening: Promises, a film by Amanda Sthers and starring Kelly Reilly, Jean Reno, Pierfrancesco Favino, and including debut role by Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles’ very own Leon Hesby. Based on Sthers’ international bestseller by the same title, “Promises” turns on an unfulfilled love affair between Alexander, played by Pierfrancesco Favino and Laura, played by Kelly Reilly.

Now in its 14th year, A Night of Short French Films continues the annual tradition of featuring the best independent filmmakers from France. Tickets include cheese tasting at intermission. Films in French with English subtitles.

This event is a student-led initiative, inspired by similar events at renowned French universities such as HEC and Sciences Po. 20 Lycée Français High School students will deliver a short speech in English or French in relation to a chosen quote in front of a panel of 5 judges. Come watch an authentic rhetorical show and support your fearless classmates, children, and students!
