Tears of Joy Theater
There's a Nightmare in my Closet by Mercer Mayer & Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll
This classic Tears of Joy production is performed with a variety of styles of puppets. The boy and the Nightmare are adaptations of Japanese bunraku puppets and the Jabberwocky is performed with three dimensional shadow puppets created from kitchen utensils which fuels the imagination!These stories are tied together by the theme of facing and overcoming our fears in ways that will elicit both wonder and giggles.
Certified Lunatic and Master of the Impossible, Thomas Kubinek
Tomas Kubinek, who smartly selected an always in-demand profession, that of a clown, is described as a comic genius, virtuoso vaudevillian, and all-round charmer who gives audiences a joyous experience. Kubínek, born in Prague, was smuggled out of the country at age 3 by his parents to escape the 1968 Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. After two months in a refugee camp in Austria, the Kubínek family was granted asylum in Canada. There Tomáš witnessed his first circus. He became passionately interested in clowns, circus, theater, and magic.
